Looking at children’s interests is a great way of helping them learn, all children have interests all you have to do is find out what they are and get toys and other resources and then plan around them. Working out what children enjoy is important when planning for them as there is a statutory requirement for us to make their learning and development experience challenging and enjoyable. Asking parents and children what they did over the weekend is a great way of finding out each child’s interests and making plans around that topic. Observations and assessments can be included in finding children’s interests this is an important part of the EYFS.
